To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of Guns N' Roses' debut album, "Appetite For Destruction," the band has partnered with several brands to set up several pop-up shops around Los Angeles. Through the collaboration with Maxfield and Bravado along with other designers, the band hopes to bring back the fashion that cemented their identity back in the 80's.
Out with the new
The special retail event, dubbed as the "Guns N' Roses Was Here" event, will be seeing exclusive themed items being sold at select Maxfield and Bravado boutiques around Los Angeles from Aug. 11 up to Aug. 18. The band hopes to celebrate its 1987 album that launched them into stardom through the introduction of limited edition collections that have been created by famous designers, which even includes Kanye West's fashion director.
The band previously launched a similar event last year in New York city through different John Varvatos outlets. For this year, the band is bringing in some big guns through their partnership with Henri Alexander’s Enfants Riches Déprimés, Francesco Ragazzi's Palm Angels, and Abloh's Off-White. The "classic GNR-inspired designers," as the band calls them, have been tasks to make different items of clothing that will embody all of the band member's fashion sense throughout their career. This includes vintage shirts, studded belts, jackets, and tight jeans.
While there hasn't really yet been any details about the actual items that will be sold, it may be safe to assume that most of them will not be coming cheap. One of the actual products that have been teased includes a plain distressed denim jacket with different Guns N' Roses logos at the back. The jackets alone costs about $1,300 each.
Given the fact that the band is currently still on tour, appearances from any of the members are unlikely to happen. This Friday, Guns N' Roses will be performing at the BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, which will then be followed by a performance in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Sunday. The band will then be visiting different states across the country all throughout August until November. For a complete list of their concerts, visit their official tour website.
